The Nintendo consoles have had their fair share of classic titles. From Super Mario to the Legend of Zelda to Kirby and even early Final Fantasy titles, Nintendo consoles were the cream of the crop back in the day due to their incredible libraries of games. That being said, there have been plenty of Nintendo games that didn’t end up on store shelves whether it’s due to an insufficient budget, a sudden change in leadership or something completely out of the developer’s control. In the end, video game companies are running a business and sometimes, games are just not meant to be released.

Donkey Kong Racing was supposed to be a released for the Nintendo GameCube as a rival to Mario Kart: Double Dash, but after developer Rare was bought by Microsoft in 2002, plans changed. Cheetahmen II is known as one of the worst games of all-time and is supposedly so bad the developers decided to scrap the project altogether. Dwagons is not just a cute pronunciation of the mythical dragon, it was supposed to be a gem of the 16-bit golden age. Pilotwings was one of the first games ever released for the Super Nintendo and was highly successful, but a sequel never came about.
