How to Faceroll Diablo 3
Is Diablo 3 too easy? I put this question to the test during a livestream to determine if it’s just me or if Blizzard has made their easiest game yet.
Frustrated by the recent UI changes in beta and the overwhelming feeling that more and more games are doing too much hand-holding, I decide to stop praising Diablo 3 and start showing the truth of the state of the game.
Now we’re less than a month away from D3 release and I know what you’re gonna say. “It’s Beta!” or “It’s normal mode!” … right well guess what, those are not valid arguments.
Games like Dark Souls for example are being praised because of their higher difficulty. They challenge the player to play their best and rise up to the challenge. When the player meets and wins against such challenges, it gives players a sense of achievement and satisfaction. In Diablo 3s Normal mode, there is no challenge it seems and soon becomes repetitive and boring.
If they want to keep Normal mode the way it is, then the least Blizzard can do for more experienced and hardcore gamers is to give the option to start on a harder difficulty. Not force them to play normal (easy) mode first to unlock the higher difficulty. Here’s hoping they do!
Despite my disappointment from time to time, I know D3 will be a fun game (when the challenge arrives) and we’re excited to livestream it regularly on our Twitch channel, KineticLive
