New for 2012, the A7 is Audi’s answer to combat the Mercedes CLS. A car with the sleek aesthetics of a coupe, the comfort / convenience of a sedan, with the added utility of a hatchback. Fit/Finish is almost flawless throughout the interior & it’s seats are cozy enough to make one have a snooze. It’s supercharged 310 HP 3.0L V6 is beyond adequate to propel this gem to 60 MPH in 5.4 seconds & to answer the cries for those who demand more power, Audi compliments the A7 with a V8 option for the 2013 model & it will be known as the S7.

Project History & More Info:

What do you get when you combine water with a homemade electrolyzer and a car battery? BOOM!

In a previous project, I built a generator that uses electricity to convert water into a very powerful fuel. The amount of electricity available determines how much gas can be produced. I’ve got this hooked up to my car battery and have produced up to 5 liters per minute. I’ve even tried powering it with a makeshift hand-crank generator, but obviously the gas production is slower. So just how powerful is the gas? Watch the video to find out!

The gas is just a mixture of the H2O molecules broken down into their gaseous elements of two parts Hydrogen and one part Oxygen, which combine as H2 and O2 gas. This is sometimes called HHO, or Hydroxy gas. I used a bbq ignitor to see if the bubbles will pop.

Some people might ask what the purpose of the bubbler is. It helps clean the gas, but more importantly, it acts as a flame arrestor in the event of a flashback. The bubbler cap is just pressed on, so if there’s a tiny flashback explosion, the worst thing that happens is the cap pops off. If the bubbler’s a little low on fluid then be careful, because now the gas has a place to build up, and if you were to get a flashback in this situation, it could be a little more dramatic. It’s helpful to keep the bubbler full, so I made mine detachable for ease of use.

Project History & More Info:

A friction fire made by the “Fire Plow” method is not as easy as it looks. Practicing with the right woods and techniques is invaluable to being prepared for an actual emergency. I used dried wild hibiscus wood, which in my experience is the easiest wood to do this with. I’ve heard that dried sotol wood is also very easy.

The Samoans say that any type of wood can be used to make a friction fire, and it’s important that both sticks come from the same piece of wood.

I’ve tried many different woods and been successful with amazing amounts of smoke, but thus far haven’t had any success in developing a coal. It’s probably my technique, which I hope I can master over time, but I’ve found very little information on the subject, and nobody who’s actually done it with wood other than hibiscus or sotol.

2012 Nissan Leaf SL Review, Walkaround, Startup

Help us grow so we can bring you more videos! Like us on Facebook @ http://www.Facebook.com/2Redline The Nissan Leaf is one of the first mass produced fully electric cars to hit the streets that can be utilized as any ordinary car. Having many of standard features, a roomy passenger cabin, & a comfortable ride, the funky looking Leaf is one of the most decent approches though it would be hard to confuse one if spotted cruising along the avenue. With it’s 80kw Electric motor which provides an instant 107HP & 207 ft-lbs of torque @ 0 rpm, the Leaf is no dud & may catch some by surprise at the stoplight. Unfortunately, it’s $35,200 base price tag & 73 mile range may be a turnoff to many. Fortunately, the SL trim does offer a quick-charge feature where the battery can be 80% recharged in about 30 minutes time, but that doesn’t save the Leaf from being an unsuitable car for long distant road trip or a worst case scenario where a Leaf owner is low on power while stuck within a traffic Jam & can’t find a power outlet before the battery depletes.
