http://www.ted.com Ancient monuments give us clues to astonishing past civilizations — but they’re under threat from pollution, war, neglect. Ben Kacyra, who invented a groundbreaking 3D scanning system, is using his invention to scan and preserve the world’s heritage in archival detail. (Watch to the end for a little demo.)

Martin Hanczyc: The line between life and not-life

State of Jailbreak: iOS 5.0.1, iPhone 4S and iPad 2

In this episode of State of Jailbreak I go over the new iOS 5.0.1 firmware for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G, iPad and iPad 2. It will bring battery life improvements for the iPhone 4S and the other devices along with various bug fixes. iOS 5.0.1 will be released in the coming weeks.

MuscleNerd has shown proof of an iOS 5 jailbreak on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 recently. redsn0w will most likely be updated to work on the iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 devices soon. The Chronic Dev Team is also working on a greenpois0n iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 5.

The tweak of the week is WidgetTask. WidgetTask brings your multitasking bar into notification center on iOS 5 devices, allowing you to easily get to your open apps, music controls and setting your volume. Along with SBSettings this is one of my favorite notification center tweaks so if you’re interested just search “WidgetTask” in Cydia.
