On this episode of Roadkill, David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of HOT ROD magazine fly out of town, buy a car from a junkyard, make it run and drive, do burnouts, add nitrous, drag race twice, almost die, and the auction off the car at the end. The scene begins at CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, Texas, where the guys score a ’67 Plymouth Barracuda with a 360 V8, but without a carburetor, interior, glass, or brakes. By the time they sort out a number of other mechanical woes, they’re off for some burnouts and some racing at North Star Dragway, right next to the Auto Ranch. Then it’s a 300-mile drive to Houston for the NMCA Lone Star Nationals race. But, as you’ve come to expect from these guys, that doesn’t exactly go smoothly. But then they add NOS nitrous and it makes everything ok as they hang out with Jeff Lutz and Tim Reed from HOT ROD Drag Week right before they have to sell the car and hit the plane home.

أعلن اتحاد كرة القدم، على لسان مدير ادارة العلاقات العامة، عبدالقادر حسن، رفع عدد الطائرات المخصصة لنقل مشجعي المنتخب الوطني الى البحرين لمؤازرته في كأس الخليج 21 لكرة القدم المقامة في العاصمة المنامة، الى ثماني طائرات، تجاوباً من الأعداد الكبيرة من المشجعين الراغبين في السفر الى هناك للوقوف مع الأبيض في اعقاب تألقه في هذه البطولة وصعوده الى الدور نصف النهائي، اثر تغلبه على نظيره المنتخب البحريني صاحب الأرض والجمهور بهدفين مقابل هدف.
وقال عبدالقادر حسن، وهو حارس منتخب الإمارات سابقاً، لـ«الإمارات اليوم»: «سنقوم في اتحاد الكرة بزيادة عدد طائرات المشجعين لتصل الى أكثر من ثماني طائرات بسبب الإقبال الكبير من الجمهور لمساندة المنتخب بعدما بلغت ست طائرات خلال المباراة السابقة».
وتوجه عبدالقادر باسم اتحاد كرة القدم بالشكر والتقدير الى الشركات والمؤسسات ومختلف الشخصيات التي اسهمت في توفير هذه الطائرات للمشجعين.
وأشار عبدالقادر الى أنهم في اتحاد الكرة لا يمانعون زيادة مقاعد السيدات الراغبات في السفر لتشجيع المنتخب من 50 الى 100 مقعد، ممتدحاً الدور الكبير الذي قامت به مجموعة من السيدات اثناء وجودهن في مدرجات الملعب الوطني لمساندة المنتخب خلال مباراته السابقة أمام البحرين.
من جانبها، كشفت عضو مجلس ادارة اتحاد الإمارات للدراجات الهوائية رئيس اللجنة النسائية، نسرين علي بن درويش، أنها طلبت من اتحاد الكرة رفع عدد مقاعد السيدات الإماراتيات في الطائرة المخصصة لمشجعي المنتخب للسفر للمنامة، الى 100 مقعد، في اعقاب نجاح الحملة السابقة، اضافة الى 100 مقعد اخرى للرجال خصوصاً من لعبة الدراجات الهوائية.
وامتدحت نسرين التجاوب الكبير الذي وجدته الحملة من المسؤولين في اتحاد الكرة، خصوصاً من ادارة العلاقات العامة بقيادة عبدالقادر حسن ورئيس قسم العلاقات العامة والخدمات في اتحاد الكرة فيصل اسماعيل.
وكان اتحاد كرة القدم خصص في الطائرات الأخيرة لمشجعي المنتخب، التي بلغت ست طائرات، 50 مقعداً للسيدات.
وقالت نسرين التي قادت حملة السيدات الإماراتيات للسفر الى المنامة لمؤازرة الأبيض في مباراته الأخيرة أمام البحرين، إن الحملة الماضية وجدت تفاعلاً وتجاوباً كبيراً من السيدات، لافتة الى أن ذلك حفزهن لمواصلة جهودهن حتى النهاية من أجل أن يتكلل ذلك بعودة الأبيض الى الدولة حاملاً لقب البطولة.
وأشارت نسرين التي كلفها اتحاد الدراجات بشكل رسمي تشكيل رابطة مشجعي منتخبات الدراجات، الى أن الحملة المقبلة ستشهد سفر مجموعة من السيدات البارزات في المجتمع.
وأكدت نسرين أن اتحاد الدراجات الهوائية، برئاسة أسامة الشعفار، وجّه رسالة شكر رسمية الى اتحاد الكرة لتجاوبه الكبير مع حملة السيدات الإماراتيات بالسفر الى البحرين لدعم المنتخب، حيث ضمت الحملة الأخيرة مجموعة من لاعبات منتخب الدراجات الهوائية للسيدات.
أشاد حسام المحمود مراسل قناة ‘ام بي سي’ بالإستقبال الرائع لمحمد أبو تريكة نجم وسط الأهلي من الجماهير المختلفة في مطار الرياض أمس ، حيث أنه حظي بإستقبال أسطوري لم يحظى به الا المنتخب الأرجنتيني ونجمه ليونيل ميسي.وأضاف : إستقبال المصريين لمحمد أبو تريكة يشابه مقابلة المواطنين السعوديين لميسي ولم يختفي ذلك عن الفندق حيث كان هناك إستقبال حافل وتفاجأت بحبهم وإحتفالهم بالنادي الأهلي.و أكد المحمود أنه تم إيقاف حافلة الأهلي ومرافقيه من سيارات أخرى لإعطائهم مخالفة سير وهو ما كان سيتسبب في كارثة مرورية حيث إعتبر الشرطي أن التجمهر المرافق لموكب الأهلي يستحق المخالفة الى أن تم إيضاح الأمر له في النهاية ، خاصة أن السفير المصري عفيفي عبد الوهاب كان مرافقا لبعثة الأهلي ضمن أحد السيارات الخاصة الموجودة في الموكب.
