Beginning on California’s canyon roads, the week-long excursion starts with a real-world driving portion, in which Motor Trend’s editors put each car through its paces from sunrise till sunset. Then, it’s on to the historic track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, where pro driver Randy Pobst lays down lap times and pushes each vehicle to its limits. See what happens in between the laps and find out how the various members of the crew cope with this exhausting week.

No one knew Shane McConkey better than his wife, Sherry. One of the executive producers of McConkey and a principal figure in the film, she was the love of Shane’s life: his spouse, the mother of his child, a true partner and fellow adventurer.

Today, she continues to live each day to the fullest – as director of the nonprofit McConkey Foundation, she carries on Shane’s legacy while pursuing a diverse career, savoring an active lifestyle and raising an energetic 7-year-old.

Proceeds from the film will go to a trust set up for the McConkey family.

Racing has come to a close after five consecutive days at the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Over the weekend, 36 National Champions were crowned in the 32nd running of the 2013 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship.
