The new Porsche 911 Targa will go on sale in the UK in May, with prices starting from £86,281. Coming with either a 345bhp 3.4-litre engine in the Targa 4, or the more powerful 395bhp 3.8-litre unit in the 4S, the top-spec 911 Targa can sprint to 62mph in 4.4 seconds, has a top speed of 184mph and can return 30.7mpg on a combined cycle. Porsche says it wants to evoke the styling and memory of the 1967 original with the new Targa, but has it done enough to succeed?

Its performance will be exceptional, but will the styling be enough to warrant the extra cost over the E-Class on which the CLS is based? This week, we find out.
