Chevy II Nova Gasser: Week to Wicked Day 5

Day 5 Recap. Thanks to the herculean efforts of the Speedway Motors crew, our Tech Center staff, and our editorial staff – we finished this beauty of a gasser. We laid down the Thermo-tec acoustical mats, added the carpet, and bolted in the seats. We then installed the steering wheel and got the fuel pumped in. Jeff Styles came by as well to apply custom graphics and paint to the car. After the paint dried, we ignited the engine – it was music to our ears! To finish up, we took this Chevy Nova out for a test drive.

Chevy II Nova Gasser: Week to Wicked—Day 4

Day 4 Recap. Today we’re going to jump into more wiring, interior, steering column, and a bunch more things! We’ve removed the back seat of the car. In 1960’s drag cars, there was no reason to have a back seat in it and with the roll cage you’re not really going to be able to get into it anyways. Christian and Jeff are getting the steering column ready and mounted in the car. Zach is putting the window felt in, you pinch it and push it into the track so that window doesn’t vibrate around and hit the metal door frame. For the final touch, we add the wheels and tires.

Chevy II Nova Gasser: Week to Wicked—Day 3

Day 3 Recap. Jason begins day three of our Week to Wicked build rolling in his very modern, pro-touring style Nova to compare to our old school gasser build. We have a full day ahead of us with the radiator core support, getting all the sheet metal back on, and wiring the engine. This is the stage of every build where you have to spend time on the details. A productive day!
