Join Brant Backlund and Mike Booth in Beijing as they document The International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) rescue, rehabilitation, and release of the birds of prey that inhabit the area.

IFAW rescues wild birds of prey in and around Beijing, China at the Beijing Raptor Rescue Center (BRRC). Beijing is in the middle of a large migration route, where the city’s urbanization and subsequent loss of habitat puts many birds at risk for injury or illness. Additionally, many birds are harmed from illegal capture and trade. The BRRC is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing birds of prey back into the wild to help these populations continue to thrive. Furthermore, the BRRC works to educate both public citizens and policymakers about the importance of wildlife protection and the importance of combatting wildlife crime.

Since the center opened in 2001, the BRRC has rescued over 4,000 birds of prey from 30 species including hawks, eagles and owls. Fifty-five percent of the raptor patients that came to the center have been successfully released back into the wild.

But to continue this great work, the BRRC needs your help. Just $30 can provide a month’s worth of food for one critically injured falcon or owl, while $50 can support the initial medical care for a raptor. Please join GoPro and donate today, helping reach BRRC’s goal of $90,000.

Hardcore Roadkill fans will remember this 1966 Buick Special convertible from a pre-Roadkill video wherein David Freiburger, Mike Finnegan, and Rick Péwé pulled the abandoned car from a back yard, made it run, and road tripped it from Phoenix to Los Angeles.
