Bell Gardens Skate Park played host to the third annual Red Bull 7 City Hustle, the ultimate cross-town skateboarding showdown. The event pit skaters from seven surrounding East Los Angeles cities against each other in an epic local skateboarding contest. Each city represented has its own local skate park, and a select nine skaters (aged 7 to 17) from each traveled to Bell Gardens to prove they (and their city) were the best. The seven cities fighting for supremacy in this all-day, all-out skate battle included: Compton, Montebello, Hawaiian Gardens, Bell Gardens, Downey, Huntington Park and Lynwood. Bell Gardens had won the contest the previous two years, and were definitely the favorite going into the contest. But this year, it was Huntington Park that took the top prize, and will thus host the event next year.
