Every year, video game developers make a bunch of different games and then release them for the masses. For most of us, pre-ordering a game might seem like a huge deal, but the true diehard fans of different franchises are always willing to go a step further by purchasing all the merchandise. A core part of this is toys, obviously, as they can not only be collectible items, but also cater to the much younger demographic. This is why et to see some really detailed action figures or other toys that are included with the Collector’s Edition of games.

This still doesn’t mean they’re always of very good quality. In fact, some of the toys that have been released for video game characters have been quite horrible in the past, especially when it was a new concept. Companies like Nintendo and PlayStation have created a name for themselves in the world of gaming, but just like everything else, they’ve also been responsible for creating some of the worst toys ever. The story of terrible toys doesn’t end here, however, as various manufacturers are quick to create knock off toys of some of the most popular characters. Why? Well, because it’ll definitely sell and it’s much cheaper than the real deal. Regardless, whether it was bad peripheral ideas or ugly knockoff toys, we have compiled a list of some of the worst toys ever that were inspired by characters from the video game world.

Coming hot off the worldwide phenomenon that was the first Avengers movie, fans were super pumped to see Tony Stark in action once more in Iron Man 3. What they got was a movie where Tony deals with panic attacks and barely suits up and an iconic comic book villain turned into a plot twist. But at least expectations were subverted, right? Step into the pitch meeting that led to the third installment in the Iron Man franchise and led Marvel to be like “yeah maybe let’s just put Tony in other people’s movies from now on.” Also, where were the Avengers during this movie? They totally could have helped out a bit– it would have been super easy, barely an inconvenience.
