Shadow Of The Tomb Raider more than delivered the goods for fans of Lara Croft when it came out in September 2018. The latest installment of the Tomb Raider franchise was packed with fun and excitement, but that didn’t mean it’s all sunshine and rainbows. Today, we’re going to tell you about that.

If you thought the amount of time and money spent making the game meant it would be free of bugs and glitches, you’re sadly wrong. YouTuber MrGreenToS found an annoying glitch and we’ll tell you about that. We’ll also show you a problem PC gamers have faced, but which Xbox and PlayStation players are fortunate to have avoided. We’ll also talk about how the game was made and how development issues between Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal didn’t help. There’s also how the absence of chief writer Rhianna Pratchett affected matters, as well as the difficulties Dr. Croft finds herself in throughout the game. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been anticipated for a while now and the adventure game features a whole lot of little secrets and things to unlock. While you play, see if you can discover the whole collection for yourself. One of the great parts of the game is the ability to honor the history of Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise. This is done through a collection of old school skins featured in past games.

An extended and secret ending to the game features an older Lara Croft with plenty of references to previous games, including some of the very original Tomb Raider stories. Libraries are typically designed for peace and quiet, but there’s one level where players are encouraged to cause some loud chaos and destruction. The Tomb Raider games have a lot of references to historical moments and treasures, but this game also has a great connection to The Mummy film series. Batman is dark. Even Batman The Animated Series was dark, and that was supposed to be fore kids! Some of the subject matter in that show was definitely a little dark for children to see, but it consistently pushed the boundaries and that’s why it’s an award winning show. In “Growing Pains,” a little girl gets sucked into a monster and dies, and Mr. Freeze gets his backstory changed to something much more dark and tragic. Speaking of Mr. Freeze, he does what he does best and freezes an immortal person alive, trapping him forever in ice at the bottom of the ocean. Then we have stories that are based off of real life tragedies like the Mad Hatter whose storyline was based off of a real life shooting, and writer Paul Dini’s real experience with a terrifying mugging. Let’s not forget about Robin, who watched his parents die right in front of his eyes, and then he almost murders a man for revenge. On the subject of death, we have a conscious robot that may just have a soul who kills himself, and Bruce Wayne jumping from a bell tower to kill himself too. Yes, the series is dark. But that’s why we love it. It challenges our understanding of what a superhero show should be. DC gets a lot of flack for being dark, but the adult subject matter provides an actual weight to situations that you just don’t get with Marvel. Not even Thanos and his finger snaps can match what DC does.
