But not every horror movie ever made is as straightforward as it might seem on the surface.

In this video, we’ll be taking you through some horror movie theories that will change the way you watch the movies in question.

The theories in question are; that time itself is manipulated by the woods in The Blair Witch Project, that Event Horizon takes place in the same universe as the Hellraiser movies, that the iconic Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is actually a woman, that Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli struck a deal with the demon in his movies, that Max Schreck from Nosferatu was actually a real vampire, that the death of Billy Drayton in The Mist was necessary to make the monsters go away, that Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street was actually Nancy Thompson’s father, that Drag Me to Hell was actually a movie about an eating disorder, that Sigourney Weaver turned up randomly (in extremely meta fashion) to save The Cabin in the Woods from flopping, and that there were actually three killers in the first Scream movie.
