Wiring a web for global good | Gordon Brown

http://www.ted.com TEDGlobal, July 21, 2009 We’re at a unique moment in history, says UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown: we can use today’s interconnectedness to develop our shared global ethic — and work together to confront the challenges of poverty, security, climate change and the economy.

hExistentialism Application Review

App Reviewed:

hExistentialism – $0.99 – 8/10 – Get it iTunes: http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=316316519&mt=8

hExistentialism is a unique puzzle game that has some really nice pacing and fun gameplay. I like the fact that it’s easy to play almost at any time due to the fact that it will auto save where you are at, but without the tutorial the game is hopelessly complicated. It also is somewhat simplistic, with no high scores, options or any music (which can be a good thing is you want to listen to your own).

Zoom photo navigation in Street View (short)

(NO AUDIO) To add additional usability to our launch of user photos in Street View, zoom photo navigation allows you to navigate between similar user photos. This is particularly useful when one photo is a zoomed-in section of another, as this demo video of Big Ben shows.

Google’s commitment to free expression

Google was the 2009 recipient of the First Amendment Leadership Award, presented by the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation (RTNDF). This video, which was shown at the awards dinner, highlights how our products enable people around the world to exercise the right to freedom of expression, even where governments routinely suppress free speech.
