Think of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 as the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1. Designed by Gordon Murray – creator of the F1, designer of championship-winning F1 cars for Brabham and McLaren – the T.50 is a new analogue supercar.
Its construction is carbon fibre. It has three seats, with the driver’s seat in the middle. Behind that is a 654bhp (663hp) 3.9-litre V12. There is no 0-60mph time or top speed quoted as yet, because that emphatically isn’t what this car is about, Murray tells Autocar, here.
Instead, he says, it’s about the driving experience: which is why it weighs just 986kg, why Cosworth has co-operated on a brand new naturally aspirated engine and why it drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The T.50 will cost £2.36m plus taxes when it goes into full production at the start of 2022. Murray tells us all about this car, how it’s constructed, and how some of its performance comes from a fan situated at the back of the car…

Creative director Syver Lauritzsen walks you through about four minutes of gameplay from his team’s upcoming arcade survival game, Terror Squid. Its release date is scheduled for later this year on all platforms.

The event, which brings a new take on the Secure Area game mode and is based in a futuristic version of the Tower map, runs from August 4 until August 17.
In the limited-time event, attackers must fly in and try to shutdown M.U.T.E Protocol by any means necessary, while defenders hold up in Comm Tower, and must defend it at all cost. The M.U.T.E. Protocol event also comes with its own collection of 26 items, featuring exclusive customizations for Jackal, Lion, Ying, Kapkan, Mira, Mute, Oryx and Vigil
