من الفنانيين الذين انتهت حياتهم بالمرض اللعين حديثا الفنانة معالى زايد حيث دخلت العناية المركزة لبضعية أيام ثم تم اعلان وفاتها اثر صراع مع مرض السرطان، وأرجع البعض سبب المرض هو ادمانها على التدخين بحسب ما تم تناقله فترة مرضها .
والفنان أحمد زكى يعتبر معبود الجماهير في القرن العشرين بعد عبد الحيلم حافظ، كانت أصابته بمرض السرطان بعدما اشتد وهج اعماله في آخر ايامه توفي في القاهرة يوم 27 مارس 2005 إثر صراع طويل للغاية مع مرض سرطان الرئة نتيجة كثرة السجائر التي كان يدخنها، وعولج على نفقة الحكومة المصرية في الخارج، وتردد أنه أصيب بالعمى في أواخر أيامة إلا أنه طلب من المحيطين به تكتم الخبر
ممدوح وافي من أكثر الوجوه الكوميدية لعب القدر معه لعبة قاسية حين رافق الفنان أحمد زكى أثناء رحلة علاجه من سرطان الرئة ، واشتدت عليه الآلام في هذه الفترة واكتشف الأطباء عن إصابته بمرض سرطان الجهاز الهضمي.
الفنان عبد الله محمود توفي 9 يونيو 2005 توفي في شهر يونيو من عام 2005 في مستشفى معهد ناصر بعد صراع طويل مع مرض السرطان
أما الفنان الشاب عامر منيب فكان اصابته بسرطان الدم مفاجأة في عالم الفن لجاذبيته وصغر سنة ونجاحة الكبير توفي صباح يوم السبت 26 نوفمبر 2011، في مستشفى دار الفؤاد عن عمر يناهز 48 عامًا بعد صراعٍ طويلٍ مع مرض السرطان دام أكثر من عامين.
وقيل عنه أنه كان على خُلق، وكان يتمنى أن يقوم بتسجيل صوته بتلاوة القرآن الكريم كاملاً بعد أن يترك الغناء، كما أنه صاحب فكرة البرنامج الخيري طوق نجاة ، وقد خصص جزء كبير من ماله لهذا العمل الخيري قبل وفاته. وقد شيعت جنازته من مسجد رابعة العدوية بمدينة نصر, ودفن في نفس قبر جدته ماري منيب بمدينة نصر.
وأقيم العزاء في مسجد ودار مناسبات الشرطة قرب طريق صلاح سالم في يوم الأربعاء 30 نوفمبر عقب صلاة المغرب.
ويحكي ان في اخر يامه كان تابع لشركة روتانا ولكن لم تكن تنتج له أغاني في هذه الفترة وكان يمتلك المال ويقول ” لا أريد أن أنتج أغاني من هذا المال فهو ملك بناتي ومن حقهم ”
ونعيمة عاكف من اللواتي أصبن بمرض السرطان أيضا توفيت في 23 أبريل 1966 بعد رحلة مع مرض سرطان الامعاء وأنهت مشوار سبعة عشر عاماً من الفن والتألق والإبداع.
وسامية جمال زوجة الفنان رشدي أباظة توفيت بعدما أنفقت كل مالها على علاجها بعدما تنصلت منها كل المعارف لتنفق ثروتها على المرض الفتاك توفيت سامية 1 ديسمبر 1994، توفيت، لينتهي مشوار عطاء فني قارب النصف قرن من الزمن، بعد غيبوبة دامت من ستة أيام في مستشفى مصر الدولي في القاهرة.
والفنانة الرقيقة صاحبة الأدوار الجميلة فايزة كمال اتسمت بأخلاقها واحتشامها تعرضت لأزمة صحية ونقلت على أثرها إلى غرفة العناية المركزة بمستشفى القصر العيني، حيث تبين بعد خضوعها لعدد من الفحوصات والأشعة إصابتها بسرطان الكبد وهناك توفيت في 26 مايو 2014.
ومن الجميلات صاحبة الأدوار الكوميدية الفنانة نوال أبو الفتوح توفيت في يوم ميلادها 10 أبريل 2007 عن عمر ناهز ال67 عاماً بعد معاناة طويلة جداً مع سرطان العظام.
وناهد شريف أكثر النجمات جرأة واثارة توفت مع صراع مرض سرطان الثدى
