Cyclone Kenneth devastates remote island of Ibo

Sky’s John Sparks reports from the Ibo in northern Mozambique, where Cyclone Kenneth has left the island’s residents living in makeshift shelters.

Aid agencies have been struggling to reach the isolated island by air after it was hit by days of strong winds and torrential rain.

No home or building on Ibo has been left untouched, and hundreds of people are in desperate need of food and drinking water.

Future of Venezuela unclear as Caracas heats up

Human rights groups say four people have died in Venezuela, including a 27-year old woman named as Betzabeth Rausseo.

In a state TV address, flanked by military officials, President Maduro claimed a US-backed coup against him led by opposition leader Juan Guaido had failed.

The three main countries involved in the dispute will gather in Finland to discuss the country’s future – at an Arctic Council meeting, which will include Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Sky’s Stuart Ramsay witnessed the spike in violence in the battle for the streets of the Venezuelan capital.
