خلال السفر جواً ، يفضل العديد من الأشخاص النوم ولكن ما لا يعلمه الكثيرون أنه في هذا الأمر ربما يكون هناك خطورة كبيرة على صحتهم , فعند اقلاع أو هبوط الطائرات يكون هناك تغير سريع في معدل الضغط الجوي داخل الطائرة ، وهو ما يؤثر بدورة على معدل الهواء الداخل عن طريق الأذن وخصوصاً أنه لن يكون هناك الوقت الكافي لمعادلة هذا الضغط0 وبالتالي تتأثر بعض القنوات داخل الأذن بهذا الأمر ، مما يؤدى الى انسداد الأذن وعدم سماع الأصوات بشكل واضح 0 لذا فمن الأفضل أثناء حدوث هذا الأمر أن تكونوا متيقظين ، حتى يكون لديكم الاستعداد الكافي لمواجهة مثل هذا التغير بشكل أسرع ، وألا سيتسبب هذا في الشعور بالدوار وربما أصابه الأذن ، وقد يصل الأمر الى إصابة الأذن بعدوى والإصابة بنزيف في الأنف وينتهى الأمر بفقدان حاسة السمع . ولتجنب حدوث كل هذه التغيرات في ضغط الهواء ، عليكم التثاؤب وبلع الريق بشكل مكثف وربما مضغ بعض اللبان أو الحلوى أو شرب الماء قد يساعدكم على فعل هذا الأمر بشكل مستمر
