Photographer Dave Yoder spent six months documenting the Vatican and the life of Pope Francis for National Geographic, taking nearly 68,000 photos. Hear the stories behind some of the moments he captured, from the pope’s walks through crowds of followers to a quiet stop at St. Peter’s Basilica that became the compelling cover image of the magazine’s August 2015 issue.
