Video game developers constantly release special or collectors editions, and pre-orders just to boost their marketing performance. These are the most expensive game editions ever produced on any console, whether it be the playstation, xbox, pc or switch.

We all know that gaming is a pretty expensive hobby. Nowadays, most AAA games cost about 60 dollars a pop, consoles will set you back a few hundred dollars and a new controller is about a 40 dollar investment. And that’s just for console games! Top of the line gaming PCs can easily go for over a thousand dollars and keeping a machine up to date also gets pretty expensive very quickly. Also, we’ve all spent more on microtransactions than we’d care to admit.
However, some games can get ridiculously expensive. Like, several millions of dollars kind of expensive. These games cost far more than they reasonably should and are going to be the focus of today’s video from TheGamer. We’re going to cover everything from the absurdly expensive Dying Light special editions to the WadWad edition of Saints Row 4 and even that version of Fallout 3 that came with a real-life Pip-Boy.
We’ll cover the history of these games, dig into what makes them so pricy and even give some advice to everyone who just realized they’re sitting on some unassuming treasure. While you can’t put a price on the sentimental value of a game, or how much a piece of art is really worth, collectors have decided that these titles are several times more valuable than the average game. So long as you kept it in pretty good condition, at least.
