Donkey Kong’s Nintendo journey has been just about as long as Mario’s. He has followed him from the arcade to home consoles and has a pretty great franchise of his own. Deep down, Donkey Kong has accumulated some pretty crazy secrets over the years and we’re unraveling them all for you now!
Mario usually cheers over his fallen victims at the end of games, but in Donkey Kong Jr., Mario is the dead one at the end of the game. An angel halo even hovers over his head. Donkey Kong has been through his fair share of battles, but nothing like when he took on the master himself, King Kong. Donkey Kong has also done battle with a number of rip-off games who were pulled from arcades and off store shelves. One of Donkey Kong Country’s toughest levels is the fast-moving Mine Cart Carnage, but there was a way to skip a majority of the cart ride. Collecting rainbow coins was the ultimate objective in Donkey Kong 64, but players really missed out on a hidden coin that wasn’t discovered until years later. Donkey Kong has a secret video game addiction of his own and has a few favorite games he loves to play. One secret character many people don’t know about is Bluster Kong and his evil ways. The character was introduced in the official TV show and is known for creating all the barrels Donkey Kong smashes through the years. Watch to see all of these secrets and more!
