Meet Joseph Crecca, Jr., and learn about a recipe that’s stood the test of history. Joseph developed his famous “Fachamatta Potatoes” as a young pilot in flight school. Later, when his plane was shot down over Vietnam, as a POW with very little to sustain him, 1st Lieutenant Crecca would share with his fellow POWs the recipe of his “Fach Potatoes,” always looking forward to the day when he could get home and prepare them again. Musician and performer Loick Essien requested an apple dessert from us. Not only does he have our apple flapjack crumble recipe to have a go at but we also cooked up an apple and berry strudel for him. With slightly stewed apples, a handful of berries and lovely crisp filo pastry this dessert is a family favourite. Served with custard, of course!
