Elaine Morgan says we evolved from aquatic apes

http://www.ted.com Elaine Morgan is a tenacious proponent of the aquatic ape hypothesis: the idea that humans evolved from primate ancestors who dwelt in watery habitats. Hear her spirited defense of the idea — and her theory on why mainstream science doesn’t take it seriously.

A kinder, gentler philosophy of success | Alain de Botton

http://www.ted.com Alain de Botton examines our ideas of success and failure — and questions the assumptions underlying these two judgments. Is success always earned? Is failure? He makes an eloquent, witty case to move beyond snobbery to find true pleasure in our work.

Resident Evil 4 Application Review

App Reviewed:

Resident Evil 4 – $7.99 – 8.5/10 – Get It In iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=322523436&mt=8

A really great game from only a few years ago, Resident Evil makes a solid impression once again on the iPhone and iPod touch. The gameplay is fun, kept fresh by high intensity action and a wealth of small cutscenes depicting all sorts of actions (such as kicking aside ladders) and the graphics really are quite impressive. If it weren’t for the high price and disappointing controls this game would be a must get for sure. As it is now, though, I am still favorably impressed.

Must Have Cydia Applications: SBSettings

This is the third in a series of videos I’m doing on some must have Cydia apps. SBSettings is one of my favorite Cydia apps, as it really gives you a lot of settings and toggles that you normally wouldn’t have. Definitely recommended.

In case you were wondering, the glitch that wasn’t letting me shut off the brightness pop up disappeared the day after I recorded this review with an update. I’m not sure if the update was specifically to fix the glitch or not, but I haven’t had the problem again.

Tutorial: How To Add Custom Themes To Vista

This is the first in another new series of videos I’m making that will show you how to customize your Vista computer. Do note that these are directed toward Vista users. Some of these programs and hacks will work on XP and Win 7, but be sure to check before you try. Don’t come to me after you try downloading Vista patches for XP or something.

In case you were wondering, the Windows 7 theme didn’t look right at all on the video. That’s normal. For one, I am using Vista Home Basic, so Aero doesn’t work. There are also other tweaks that need to be done, such as the taskbar, sidebar, etc. I may do a video later on showing you how to fully tweak it, but most other themes will work fine immediately.

hExistentialism Application Review

App Reviewed:

hExistentialism – $0.99 – 8/10 – Get it iTunes: http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=316316519&mt=8

hExistentialism is a unique puzzle game that has some really nice pacing and fun gameplay. I like the fact that it’s easy to play almost at any time due to the fact that it will auto save where you are at, but without the tutorial the game is hopelessly complicated. It also is somewhat simplistic, with no high scores, options or any music (which can be a good thing is you want to listen to your own).
