On Day 2 of Diesel Power Challenge 2014, the 10 reader-selected truck contenders kick off with an event designed to assess each driver’s skill. The spotlight shifts from the truck’s go-fast prowess to the driver’s ability to navigate a CDL-style obstacle while maneuvering with a 10,000-pound tractor-carrying trailer in tow. The driver to complete the course in the shortest time will inch closer to this year’s challenge title.

Diesel Power Challenge 2014 is a weeklong torture test that features 5 events, 10 trucks, 8,000hp, and nearly 15,000 lb-ft of torque. Andy Farrington of the United States won the world’s first Red Bull Aces Wingsuit 4 Cross Race in the skies over the central Californian town of Oakdale on Thursday, flying at speeds of up to 135 miles per hour (217 km per hour) and beating three other rivals in the final down a slalom course in the premiere of the new sport. In the high-speed, high-altitude race through four stationary gates that started with a leap from the back hatch of a sky van airplane at 7,000 feet and descended to the finish line at 3,500 feet, Noah Bahnson (USA) took second and Julian Boulle (South Africa) was third in a field of 52 of the world’s best Wingsuit racers from 16 countries.

Veering away from traditional straight route racing, Red Bull Dragon Roar took the art of Dragon Boat racing to a whole new level. Competitors raced in modified boats, replicating the traditional Chinese Dragon Boats, around an obstacle course with 10 paddlers and 1 drummer in each vessel.
