The Rubicon Trail is the most famous 22-mile off-road trail in the world, and over the years the 4x4s that have attempted it have only gotten better. But it wasn’t started with 4x4s on 40-inch tires and big engines. Rather, it was started with little Jeeps on tiny tires and no lockers. So on this episode of Dirt Every Day presented by Tire Rack, Fred Williams and Dave Chappelle see just how far they can get on the ’Con with almost stock 4x4s. Equipped with just a winch and a sense of adventure, the guys hit the trail in 45- year-old 4x4s to see if they could make it across the world-renowned Rubicon Trail.

On this episode of Head 2 Head presented by Tire Rack, Jonny Lieberman and Jethro Bovingdon take a classic trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, but they are doing it in style. Many tires are sacrificed in the quest to discover whether we’re in a new golden era for the muscle car and which of these cars best represents the new breed. Hellcat or ZL1? Watch and find out.
Today, we review the Porsche Cayman GT4 and the Renault Megane RS Trophy R. Matt Prior and James Disdale take both cars to Anglesey race circuit for a track test to find out which is quicker: the Porsche pure sports car or the Renault hot hatchback.
The 2019 Cayman GT4 picks up where the old GT4 left-off, with a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six engine rather than the four-cylinder turbo of standard Caymans.
The 2019 Megane Trophy R also does what its predecessors did: it’s a front-wheel drive master, with a powerful 2.0-litre four cylinder engine, no back seats and is so fast that it’s the front-wheel drive Nurburgring lap record holder.
Join us, then, as we find out whether the Cayman GT4 or Megane Trophy R is quicker.
