Scientists from the University of Utah were conducting a study on scavenger behavior in Utah’s Grassy Mountains. They set out seven calf carcasses with camera traps, and after a week they noticed one carcass was missing. When they checked the footage, they found a determined badger that completely buried the calf over the course of five days. Badgers cache their food to hide it from other scavengers as well as to make it last longer.
