انتقد رئيس الوزراء التركي رجب طيب أردوغان مسلسل العصر الرائع أو كما يعرف في العالم العربي بـحريم السطان.
قائلا:” ليس لدينا اجدادا مثلما يجري تصويرهم في المسلسل.
وأعرب أردوغان عن تنديده بمخرجي هذا النوع من المسلسلات، وأصحاب القناة التلفزيونية التي تعرضها،منوها أنه ينتظر قرارا قضائيا بهذا الشأن، بالرغم من تحذير المعنيين بالمسلسل.
وقال أردوغان ،:”إننا نعيش في هذا العالم ذو السبع مليارات نسمة، ونعرف ماهي وظيفتنا، نذهب إلى كل بقعة وصل أجدادنا إليها على ظهر الخيول، ونهتم بتلك المناطق”.
وتابع : “نحن لا نعرف السلطان سليمان القانوني بالشخصية التي يظهر فيها في المسلسل”، لافتا أنه قضى 30 عاما من عمره على ظهر الخيول في إطار الحروب والفتوحات التي خاضها.
