12 international youth teams are battling it out at the Red Bull Youth America´s Cup Selection Series Events off the coast of San Francisco for starting spots at the main regatta taking place as part of the 34th America’s Cup in September 2013.

The teams have until February 24 to convince sports directors and double Olympic champions Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher (both AUT) of their abilities on land and sea.

أفاد مدير مستشفى النور في أبوظبي الدكتور طه إبراهيم، بأن ‬25٪ من المواطنين في أبوظبي (شخص من كل أربعة مواطنين) مصابون بمرض السكري، وأن احتمالية الاصابة ارتفعت لتصل إلى واحد من كل ثلاثة مواطنين، مشيراً إلى أن الفئة العمرية المعرضة بشدة للاصابة سن ‬18 عاماً، وذلك وفق التقارير الاخيرة الصادرة من هيئة الصحة في أبوظبي.

وأكد إبراهيم خلال توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين مؤسسة صندوق الزواج ومستشفيات النور، بمناسبة اطلاق الصندوق للحملة الصحية البيئية للنصف الاول من العام الجاري، تحت عنوان «السكري بين الوقاية والعلاج»، زيادة مرض السكري في الدولة، على الرغم من تراجع الإمارات إلى المركز الخامس عالمياً في نسبة الاصابة، بعد ان كانت تحتل المركز الثاني عام ‬2009، مشيراً إلى أن اسباب انتشار المرض يعود إلى الاقبال على الوجبات السريعة التي ساعدت على انتشار البدانة وعدم ممارسة الرياضة بالاضافة إلى الأمراض الوراثية.

من جانبها، قالت مديرة عام الصندوق بالانابة، حبيبة عيسى الحوسني، إن الحملة تهدف إلى بناء أسرة إماراتية متماسكة ومستقرة من خلال التثقيف الصحي والبيئي، الذي يأتي ضمن سلسلة متكاملة من الأنشطة والمحاضرات والندوات والدورات التدريبية وورش العمل التي تسهم بشكل ايجابي في تثقيف شريحة كبيرة من المستفيدين.

وأضافت أن الفعاليات التي سينظمها الصندوق بالتعاون مع الشركاء في الحملة متنوعة وتستهدف فئة كبيرة من الجمهور ومن طلاب المدارس بجانب الجامعات والمعاهد الحكومية والخاصة.

فيما أكد عضو مجلس ادارة الصندوق، عميد كلية الطب والعلوم الصحية في جامعة الإمارات، الدكتور محمد يوسف بني ياس، أن تكثيف حملات التوعية والإرشاد جاء لأهمية العمل على رفع مستوى الوعي الاجتماعي والبيئي والصحي لدى كل أطياف المجتمع حول مختلف القضايا التي تهم الاسرة والمجتمع، ومساعدة الجهات المهتمة من الهيئات الحكومية والخاصة على تنفيذ وتطبيق البرامج والمشروعات المشتركة خلال تنفيذ فعاليات الحملات المشتركة التي يقيمها الصندوق على مدار العام.

وشدد على أن الصندوق يسعى إلى نشر ثقافة الوعي البيئي والصحي وتشجيع الممارسات الصحية من خلال نشر الوعي الوقائي من الأمراض الوراثية التي تنتج عن طريق زواج الأقارب بالدرجة الأولى، وأية أمراض قد تنتج عن طريق تجاهل الفحص الطبي قبل الزواج والتأكد من عدم انتقالها وراثياً أو جينياً بهدف بناء جيل معافى من الأمراض.
