President Donald Trump has signed into law an act supporting the pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.

Protesters in Hong Kong are celebrating after Donald Trump signed legislation that effectively backs their civil rights.

Crowds of several thousand pro-democracy activists waved the US national flag in Hong Kong’s central district on Thursday, while others held up signs thanking the US president.

Celebrity chefs pay tribute to Gary Rhodes

Marcus Wareing, Aldo Zilli and Ainsley Harriott have paid tribute to celebrity chef Gary Rhodes who has died at the age of 59.

The TV chef died after suddenly falling ill during a break in filming on a new series he was working on in Dubai, the production company behind the show has said.

Rhodes appeared on programmes including Rhodes Around Britain and MasterChef during his celebrated cookery career and was working on a new series for ITV with Rock Oyster Media, a subsidiary of Goldfinch.

His family had said they were “deeply saddened” by his death.

Wrongly convicted trio freed after 36 years

Three men in Baltimore have been released after being wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for 36 years. They were convicted of first degree murder in 1983 when they were 16-years-old and sentenced to life in prison.
