هولندا قامت بتأسيس مدينة صغيرة تدعى “Hogewey” تم تصميم المدينة لتلائم المسنين بدلًا من حبسهم في دور رعاية. المسنون المصابون بالخرف أو الألزهايمر يعيشون حياة طبيعية في مدينة بها مقاهي ومتاجر وكل ما يوجد في المدينة العادية لكن يشرف على تلك المرافق أطباء ومتخصصون ليعتنوا بكبار السن.
