Showdown: LaVie Mini VS The Alienware UFO

Lenovo LaVie Mini VS Dell Alienware UFO

Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Sub_to_TheGamer

Is the Alienware UFO or the Lenovo Lavie Mini better? These two handheld devices, revealed at CES 2020 and CES 2021 respectively, show a lot of promise in rivalling the almighty Nintendo Switch in the world of portable gaming devices? Where going to talk about what we know, what we think we know, and what we suspect about these two concept machines, and fast forward to a not so distant future where they are both on the shelves and we have to pick one.

Alienware’s UFO is massive and heavy at 900g, whereas the Mini is ultra light at 578g. Both are heavier than the Switch though, who tips the scale at a mere 400g. Their screens are the same size at 8 inches, so no compromising there. The Mini and UFO will both run on Windows, so yes, all Windows games should technically be accessible on it. XBox games as well. Nice! The UFO’s insides are secret for now, where as the Mini will run using the much anticipated Intel Tiger Lake Chip: the Iris Xe graphics card. We’ll talk about how tiny, light, and efficient it is supposed to be.

We are going to ponder aesthetics as well, and if these two were released, based on everything we know now, we will make an executive decision as to which one we would buy and why. Hope you love our video as much as we enjoyed making it!

Gaming Consoles You Didn’t know Existed

Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Sub_to_TheGamer

If you didn’t know, gaming has been around for a while. The advent of 3D graphics and the ensuing transition into modern gaming only describes around 25 years of the medium’s history. As you might expect, countless consoles have been made and released by countless manufacturers. Most of them, judging by the numbers, don’t do so well, so it wouldn’t be hard to pick five consoles out of the air you aren’t familiar with. This is why we’re sticking to recent history, and barring one of the five, which came out in the 1990s, all of the consoles we’re going to talk about came out in the last decade.

Just who are our five illustrious listicle contenders? Glad you asked. We’ve got the Phillips CD-i; the Nintendo Wii Mini; the famed Ouya; the Sony PlayStation TV; and the GPD Win. If you don’t know much about these, don’t worry. If you do, worry a little bit, but still watch. Definitely.

Now, even if you have heard of some of these consoles, in passing, once or twice, make no mistake: We’re going to get into what these consoles did right, wrong, and ultimately, why they didn’t make it in the market. You didn’t click on BuzzFeed Gaming, we promise. You will come away having learned something, or your money back! Now that we have our Satisfaction Guarantee out of the way, make sure to remember if you like this video to subscribe to us here at TheGamer and ring the notification bell to stay up-to-date with all our latest videos!

Imagine for a second your friend invites you over to play a new video game that he just bought. You think it must be for the PS5, or the new Xbox, or even something like the Switch. But then when you get there you see tucked away in his living room corner is a brand new arcade game. And not some digital copy of an arcade, or like a mini version or anything like that. But a full-sized, quarter-taking arcade game. Would you be let down? Or would you perhaps be a little jealous? Or would you just be content to play Pac-Man all night long?

What do you think? Should you buy an arcade game?

Go ahead and check out our video below all about the big question of whether an arcade game is a good investment or not.
