The Marvel Cinematic Universe always gets its fans talking – and since the Skrulls were confirmed as being introduced in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie in 2019, theories have been rife regarding who the shapeshifting aliens might have been posing as since the franchise began.

One of the more “out there” theories is that none other than the Hulk has actually been a Skrull since 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, when the character was seen for the first time since going missing in a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet at the end of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In this video, we’ll explore that theory further – and note that there are spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War in the video, as well as in this text.

The theory suggests that the Hulk was ambushed by cloaked Skrulls as he left Earth’s atmosphere following Age of Ultron – and it also highlights the evidence as to why that might be the case.

A series of events have unfolded – involving the likes of Skurge, Thor, Heimdall and Thanos – both planned and unplanned, that have led Skrull-Hulk back to Earth, where he is gathering vital information on the superheroes of the planet, having been to places like Wakanda and the Avengers headquarters, in preparation for a potential Skrull invasion of Earth (a Secret Invasion arc in phase four of the MCU, anyone?).
