Nintendo and its characters are well established icons for gamers the world over. However, they’ve been around for such a long time now that we couldn’t help but wonder what might happen if they had kids. Luckily, there are some very talented artists who’ve thought the same thing themselves and we’re going to tell you about them.

Fans of Pokemon have loads of different characters to choose from. Like they say, you gotta catch ’em all! But if you wondered what would happen if two different Pokemon had kids, someone came up with that. We like how Doduo and Voltorb’s offspring looks like. There’s also what would happen if Metroid’s Samus Aran became a mother, what Kirby’s child would look like and even a little Little Goomba!

When it comes to pairing up established characters, then we like how Link and Zelda’s child would look. There’s also a weird pairing which is a work of mad genius: the daughter of Bowser and Princess Peach. In the world of Nintendo baddies, Vaati’s child gives a clue to its father’s past. Sometimes, Nintendo themselves have dropped hints about what a character’s kids might look like. They did this in Super Mario World for Yoshi and they did it in Yoshi’s Island for Baby Mario too. Animated characters often have a unique look to them thanks to colors, styles, and the various forms of animation. Even if the characters are human, it’s hard to imagine them all in live-action form. As a way of showcasing characters in a whole new light, we’ve been treated to a number of live-action versions of these famous shows and characters. Some have been special segments featured on animated series while others have been full-fledged live-action adaptations of animated shows and characters. Today, we highlight 25 of these incredible live-action forms.

The Simpsons has always tried to be innovative over the past 29 seasons and they have done so on multiple occasions including a full opening sequence taped with real actors. South Park did the same thing in an odd segment showcasing the time all four boys went on a boat trip together. Codename: Kids Next Door decided to end the whole series by showcasing the children grown up and in real life. Riverdale follows the much darker adventures of Archie and his gang of characters including Jughead. Family Guy pulled out all the stops to create a live-action version of Peter Griffin on drugs. The first SpongeBob Squarepants movie not only showed SpongeBob in real life, but they showed his dead and lifeless body in real life. The Flintstones live-action film pulled out all the stops to make the town of Bedrock seem like a real place and the casting was perfect. Avatar: The Last Airbender got the big-screen live-action treatment with some great effects and a lot of action. Watch to see all of these adaptations and several others!
