Iron Man has undoubtedly become one of the most iconic superheroes in mainstream popular culture over the course of the last decade, thanks largely to Robert Downey Jr.’s brilliant portrayal of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Before 2008, when the first Iron Man movie was released, nobody would have dreamed of saying the character’s name in the same breath as the likes of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Superman and Batman, but he’s right up there with them now!
Throughout the years, however, a very wide array of characters have donned that amazing powered armour – and not just a certain genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist named Tony.
In this video, we’ll take you through 25 characters who have worn Iron Man’s armour.
The characters in question are; Tony Stark himself (this one really does go without saying), his occasional girlfriend Virginia “Pepper” Potts, his bodyguard Harold “Happy Hogan”, Riri Williams, Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk, Victor Von Doom AKA Doctor Doom, James Rhodes, Norman Osborn, Squirrel Girl, Natasha Stark, Toni Stark, Weasel Willis, Eddie March, Bethany Cabe, Mike O’Brien, Carl Walker, Sonny Frisco, Clarence Ward, Iron Grandma, Deadpool, Steve Rogers, Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man, Mary Jane Watson, Hal Stark and Eric Savin (and an honourable mention for Aldrich Killian).
