Nearly 15 years later and fans are still talking about The Incredibles, the Disney/Pixar film that has completely changed the genre and got us so excited for The Incredibles 2. Looking back on the first film, there are 25 random facts that make the film stand out even more allow us to appreciate how much actually went into the movie.

The movie may have been originally made at Warner Bros. and looked a lot different than the CG print we’ve seen. There are a lot of superhero references in the Incredibles, with some being more subtle than others. The Incredibles also pays homage to classic Pixar movies like Toy Story through some quick cameos. Samuel L. Jackson voices Frozone, and his character selection was chosen for multiple reasons. After Samuel L. Jackson was hired, one scene was directly based off his role in Die Hard With a Vengeance. The voice of Violet drew inspiration from the radio out of all places. The whole family of the Incredibles is very closely related to the Fantastic Four. One of the ships in the movie is very similar to the enemy submarine of an Aquaman villain. The Incredibles theme song is not only used in the movie, but a number of the characters actually know their own theme song. The original villain for the film was a completely different option than Syndrome. Some of Syndrome’s powers were based off real theories by Stephen Hawkings. Video game stories have come a long way, but there is still much to be done if they are to match that of films. Of course, a movie and a video game are two completely different beasts. For example, it is much easier to pace a movie compared to a game especially if they are open-world and full of side quests. Sitting down to watch a 100+ hour movie doesn’t sound very fun at all. What video games and movies do have in common are plot twists. Just when you think you have the plot all figured out, something happens that changes everything you know and love about the characters or the world itself. Be warned, because this video contains spoilers.

One of the biggest video game tropes is when the final boss is your character from the future. We see this in Bioshock Infinite and Infamous. It’s enough already! Who at Nintendo thought it was a plot twist that Samus actually turned out to be a woman? It really isn’t. When talking about confusing plots full of twists, it’s almost impossible not to mention Heavy Rain and the mysterious origami killer. Main character replacements out of nowhere seem to be popular as well and it has happened in games such as Metal Gear Solid 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Don’t even get us started on the Mass Effect 3 ending. When talking about incredibly confusing franchises, Kingdom Hearts and Resident Evil certainly come to mind. Without further ado, here are 10 of the most absurd plot twists in gaming.
