Marvel Studios’ Black Panther movie is now playing in theatres all around the world – and it’s undoubtedly proving to be a huge success both critically and commercially. But that’s not to say it doesn’t have its fair share of issues.
One example comes in the mid-credits scene when T’Challa addresses the U.N. about Wakanda’s true nature – there’s clearly a Welsh flag on display, which would suggest Wales is a separate nation to the United Kingdom – d’oh!
There are some other issues that are more related to the plot, however, and that’s what we’re going to look into in this video. Some of those issues include: Why did Killmonger need to work with Klaue? How on Earth did that museum heist go so well? How did Killmonger know the Wakandan weapon was vibranium? How did he proceed to gain access to Wakanda? WHY DIDN’T KLAUE AGE? Where does Wakanda get its wealth from without foreign trade? What was T’Challa thinking leaving tech out in the field? How on Earth do Wakandans speak English? Didn’t T’Challa, Okoye and Nakia’s actions in Korea contradict Wakanda’s support of the Sokovia Accords? How can vibranium do things like heal people of spinal paralysis? How has Shuri had enough time to conceive so many ideas that have subsequently been built when she’s only sixteen? Why could we hear T’Challa’s footsteps in his Black Panther armour when Shuri made his “sneakers” silent? How did T’Challa survive that fall into the river? And why did snow keep him alive? Why did Okoye’s unconditional support of Wakanda’s values suddenly disappear when Killmonger became king? And why did Nakia only grab one heart-shaped herb when Killmonger was going to burn them all?
