The epic Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Avengers: Infinity War – the third Avengers movie in the franchise – is one of the most highly-anticipated Hollywood productions of all time. The nineteenth offering in the MCU is set to be released in spring of 2018 (April and May, depending on where in the world you live) and we are incredibly excited about it to say the least! Millions of comic book movie fans are talking about it already – and lots of those people are actually coming up with theories about it. Those theories are; that a number of dead characters will be resurrected in the movie, that the Hulk will be a mind-controlled minion of the Mad Titan Thanos in the movie, that Scarlet Witch will be a villain in the movie, that literally every MCU hero will be killed in the movie, that time travel will be a major plot point in the movie, that Thanos will kill the fire demon Surtur at the start of the movie, that Loki will be Thanos main accomplice and sit by his side in the movie, that arc reactors will be important in combating and ultimately defeating Thanos in the movie, that a number of characters will have different superhero names to the ones were used to in the movie, and that a plethora of new characters will be introduced to join the heroic fight in the movie. Video game endings are the rewards for a job well done. They are the goal every player is aiming for when it comes to the single player game. You grind your levels, memorize the boss’ patterns and moves and even go out of your way to find all the secrets to unlock the true ending. Let’s face it, players want to see the end of the game. They want to finish what they started and most are rewarded with a satisfying ending telling them “You have proven yourself. You deserve this.” It can fill a player with a sense of accomplishment and purpose making the journey all the more worthwhile.

However, there are some games with endings where the player is completely robbed of any satisfaction. Some endings just give the player a simple end game screen and call it a day. While this can sometimes be good enough, it’s usually just sad. In more modern games, endings have been completely butchered whether it is because it made no sense, it was cliche or just downright insulted the player’s intelligence. A bad ending can ruin the entire game so, without further ado, here are 10 video games endings that were insulting to players.
