There would be no Mario without Princess Peach and Bowser. Peach is typically the damsel in distress that Mario has to rescue. Bowser is typically his biggest enemy that he constantly doing battle with. Bowser is always kidnapping Princess Peach, but there is a lot more to the story than Nintendo wants you to think.

For example, in Super Mario Sunshine, the character of Bowser Jr. was introduced as the main villain. In a huge twist, he ends up calling Peach “Mama”, and she does little to shock any type of shock or surprise. In one of the earliest Mario cartoons, Bowser nearly marries Peach, only to reveal that her true love is a prince that was transformed into a weird-looking dog. Peach always looks like the helpless victim, but she’s been constantly hiding her powers from Bowser and the rest of the mushroom kingdom. Maybe Mario wasn’t so needed after all. Nintendo typically teases the relationship between Bowser and Peach, but fans have gone crazy creating fan fiction and animations featuring the duo. Even in female form, Bowser seeks out Peach and is obsessed with the character. Bowser may always come across as the villain, but things are different in Paper Mario when Peach stumbles across his diary and really invades his privacy. Peach loves to play up the victim role when it’s clear that she has some powers of her own. She could use a little rage to go flame to flame with Bowser if she actually wanted. Bower has also saved Princess Peach on multiple occasions and could even marry him in the newest game. Wario has once sought the love of Peach as well, something Bowser probably wasn’t too happy with.

With a great story, fun characters, and memorable music, Moana is one of Disney’s biggest hits since Frozen. On the surface, the film represents a fun story about a girl following her own destiny to explore. Dive a little deeper and you can find all kinds of film theories that relate to the animation.

Maui is presented in the film as demi-god, but if the animators dove a little more into his backstory, it would be a tragic tale of abandonment. The crab Tamatoa is a creepy guy who loves treasures and many people have said that he is actually a pirate that was reincarnated as the crab. Moana went up against a lot of danger, but she may have actually been completely safe the whole time. Maui and Moana randomly meet in the film, but many fans questioned whether they were actually related to each other. Moana could also be a distant relative of Lilo from Lilo and Stitch fame. Many people wonder if Moana will become an official Disney Princess and there are many rules that she falls under to receive this classification. Moana draws inspiration from a lot of different stories, but Wonder Woman may be one of them. There are multiple theories that tie Moana to the story of the Little Mermaid. What happened to the pig in Moana after he was left behind on the island? There are multiple theories about his whereabouts. The Lord of the Rings and Moana have been compared for very similar hero journeys.
