Gerard Butler and cast went to great lengths to get in shape following a strict training program.

Based on a real story Demi Moore buzzed her hair and trained like a SEAL to get in shape for G.I. Jane.

Christian Bale shed 63 to play in the Machinist then  gained it all back again to play Batman in Batman Begins. He gained 109 pounds in six months to get back into Caped Crusader shape.

Tom Cruise went all out and did his own stunt of climbing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Chris Evans got super serious to put on 30 lbs to play Captain America who is one of the most iconic superheroes. It required brutal training for almost two hours a day.

Chris Pratt, once the goofy Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation he got shredded in order to play his role as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy.

When Ryan Reynolds finally saw the costume for Deadpool he would be wearing he cried. 11 years in the making and he would finally have his dream job. He put on seven pounds of lean muscle for the role.

Chris Hemsworth dropped thirty pounds after the original Thor to play a F1 race car driver in Rush. After the filming had stopped he put back on the thirty pounds to star in Thor: The Dark World.

Henry Cavill put on over 20 lbs of muscle in becoming Superman for Man of Steel thanks for Mark Twight. The same man responsible for shaping Gerard Butler and the cast of 300 into Spartan warriors.

Hugh Jackman gave it all he had to get super ripped for Logan released in 2017. Intermittent fasting as well as weight training gave him the edge he needed.

If you haven’t ever heard of the Super Mario Bros., you must be living under a rock. The video game franchise created by Nintendo is recognizable to both gamers and non-gamers alike which definitely says something about it’s popularity. Whether it’s playing the legendary Super Mario Bros. platformer games for the NES and SNES or having an awesome time with your friends playing Mario Kart, these games are incredibly fun to play.

You’ve probably had a taste of some of the best Mario games out there, but now it’s time to look at the characters which make these games best sellers. The characters in this video are the shining lights behind all the success of the Super Mario franchise. Even some characters we may not have been too fond of at first have transformed into well-developed characters deserving of a chance to star in their own video game. In the case of Luigi and Wario, they have taken the next step and had their face plastered on the front of a game, while others are still waiting for their opportunity.

There is such an array of Mario characters it can be quite difficult to keep up with all of them. Be that as it may, all of these characters come together and are often playable in games such as Mario Tennis, Mario Party and the friendship killer known as Mario Kart. Without further ado, here are 10 characters that actually make Mario games better. Enjoy!
