What happens when the ramps you want to ride are so big they don’t exist? No stranger to testing the boundaries of fear on a BMX bike, Canadian rider Drew Bezanson has literally climbed the rafters at contests just to drop in higher than anyone else. Eventually, he reached the point where no current ramp set-up was high enough or big enough to push himself on. Enter Uncontainable, a custom-built set-up made of enormous shipping containers. At a secret location near his hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia, Drew worked tirelessly with a team of renowned ramp builders, led by Nate Wessel, to put together some of the biggest BMX obstacles ever ridden. Needless to say, Bezanson has gone mental. Feast your eyes on some of the gnarliest BMX riding like never seen before.

سيطل عليكم غرغور في شخصيته المميزة وحركاته الإستعراضية الهزلية في حي سمسم قريباً على افتح يا سمسم!

نبذة عن غرغور: عضو خاص جداً في “”افتح يا سمسم””، يتميز بقدراته الإستعراضية الهزلية، ونظرته الفريدة للعالم من حوله. يربط غرغور بين افتح يا سمسم المحلي وبين مكتبة سمسم في الولايات المتحدة للصحة والتمارين والمحتوى الغذائي

سيتم عرضه على شاشتكم المفضلة على التلفاز، وعلى قناة افتح يا سمسم على اليوتيوب، ابتداءً من 4/9/2015.

في هذا الموسم من افتح يا سمسم، الذي سيقدمه كل من أمل وراشد، ستكون هناك مفاجآت كثيرة، منها: استضافة دمى “Sesame Street” الشهيرة في الحلقات، ليضيفوا الكثير إلى حياة الأطفال، من خلال تعزيز أنماط الحياة الصحية، وتطوير مهاراتهم، وعلاقاتهم الاجتماعية، وتحصيلهم الدراسي، كما سيحظى حي “افتح يا سمسم” باستضافة نجوم من المجتمع المحلي والعربي لتعزيز المفاهيم السابقة.

نبذة عن البرنامج وشخصيات افتح يا سمسم:

افتح يا سمسم هو مسلسل تلفزيوني، ترفيهي تربوي وتعليمي مبتكر صُمّم بطريقة ممتعة ومحفزة، تنمي قدرات الأطفال المعرفية، وتعزز مهاراتهم اللازمة مبكرًا لبناء مفردات لغتهم العربية، والقراءة والكتابة، وضمان تحقيق الأهداف التربوية الخاصة بـ”افتح يا سمسم”.

الموسم الأول: يركز على الصحة والسلامة من خلال بناء مفردات الطفل على التواصل الفعال. وتعزيز أهمية اللعب البدني، والتعذية الصحية، وممارسة التمرينات، وشرب الماء، وغسل اليدين، واللعب في الهواء الطلق. كما يرسخ مفاهيم السلامة في المنزل وخارجه

الموسم الثاني: سيركز على استكشاف مفردات ومفاهيم تدول حول الحقول العلمية المعرفية، (العلم والتكنولوجيا، والهندسة والرياضيات).

حي افتح يا سمسم: يعكس حي “افتح يا سمسم” جمال وتنوع منطقة الخليج العربي، من البحر الهائج الى الكثبان والتلال الرملية. مركز الحياة في الحي هو ساحة اللعب في الهواء الطلق، التي تدعو الأطفال لأن يكونوا نشطين حركياً، وتشجع الإبداع والخيال. ساحة اللعب في “افتح يا سمسم” هي موطن شخصيات الدمى الممتعة والمحبوبة: نعمان، وشمس، وملسون، وغرغور، الذين يرحبون بالأطفال في عالم من التعلم والمرح واللعب.

The MUNCHIES Guide to Washington: Island Gourmet

Tarik heads north to the Salish Sea near the Canadian border to experience two interpretations of farm-to-table cuisine on the remote San Juan Islands: one prepared by a fourth-generation island resident, and the other by James Beard Award-winning chef Blaine Wetzel.

Tarik starts out at The Willows Inn on Lummi Island, one of the country’s—nay, the world’s—top destination restaurants (accessibly only by sea plane or ferry), for a once-in-a-lifetime, 19-course meal that was hunted, grown, and foraged exclusively from the island itself and prepared by Wetzel. (We’re still drooling over the chicken pan drippings.) Then, a rocky water taxi ride brings Tarik to the remote island of Decatur for a lesson in culinary self-sufficiency, island hospitality, and his first-ever duck hunt.
