Watch & Listen: Elephants Protect Their Baby From Wild Dogs

A tourist captures footage of elephants loudly protecting a calf from a pack of African wild dogs at Ingwelala, a nature reserve in South Africa. The mother elephant and another adult from the herd fend off the dogs by charging and emitting three distinct vocalizations, some of which also serve as a call for help from other family members, which come to their aid.
