Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ is probably in everyone’s list of best superhero movie acting performances, if not just MOVIE performances. The character was such a mystery and a perfect villain to Christian Bale’s Batman that countless theories about him have popped up over the years. It sounds weird, but the guy really improved life in Gotham. The other is that The Joker is ex-military. It really explains a lot of mysterious things about the character.
