Whale shark swimming tours are a popular tourist draw in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. These tours are promoted as a way to boost the local economy and the conservation of this endangered species, but sometimes the tour operators and tourists don’t follow the rules further risking the well-being of the sharks.
