Brandon Lewis talks toxic data breach

Conservative party chairman Brandon Lewis is asked by Sophy Ridge about the data breach – where attendees at the conference had their mobile phone numbers released to people who only needed their email address to login on the app.

Lewis says that the party is treating it as a “serious matter” and is investigating and it has been reported to the Information Commissioner’s office and is getting in touch with all those affected to let them know.

He also dismissed calls from Labour for a general election given the government’s progress on Brexit and insists the next election will be in 2022.
