Sony has come a long way over the past 16 years. Why am I specifically saying the last 16 years? Because that’s how long they’ve been in the portable gaming market. Sony released two home consoles before they came out with their first portable console, the aptly named PlayStation Portable. It was a great console that gave us everything we needed at the time, but is it worth buying today?

The PSP had such a good library of games, it’s actually shocking. Whether it’s Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Tekken: Dark Resurrection or any of the other 1365 games on the console, you’re almost always guaranteed to have fun. But the console isn’t just limited to PSP games, you’re actually able to play PS1 games on the system as well. It’s a great way to experience the classics. The PSP did more than just play video games, it also doubled as an MP3 player in a time when MP3 players were all the rage. On top of all that, it’s a very affordable console. You could get a PSP and a package of games for just $100.

There’s more to whether or not the PSP is worth buying in 2021 than just that so enjoy the video, let me know if you’re interested in buying a PSP in the comments section below and don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more gaming tech content.
