Nintendo was originally founded in 1889 as a playing card company before diving into all different kinds of markets and finally settling on video games in the ‘70s. Since then, they’ve become one of the most influential video game companies in the world and have created some incredible franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Pokemon. In fact, Nintendo is actually the third most valuable company in Japan with a market value of over 85 million dollars US.

With the Switch being released in 2017, they’re showing no signs of slowing down. It’s crazy how the same company that released the NES has given us the Switch, but it just shows you how far they’ve come. Here on TheGamer, we’re going to take a look at the evolution of Nintendo consoles from the Color TV-Game all the way to the Switch.
