Playstation, Xbox & Nintendo Controller Showdown

When gamers compare the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller, the Xbox Series X controller and the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, they often look at which one is more ergonomic or which one has better triggers. It’s very rare that they just compare the designs of each controller, which is exactly what I plan to do in this video.

Every controller has been shaped by the controllers that came before it. Look at the DualSense for example, Sony has had symmetrical thumbsticks since the PS1 days and has never changed them. The light bar is still there from the DualShock 4. As for the Xbox Series X controller, it’s a marginal improvement over the Xbox One controller, which sounds bad, but when you think about it, the Xbox One controller was pretty much perfect, so not a lot of room for improvement there. That being said, the disc-d’pad hybrid is a really big step forward. It’s easily the best d-pad on any controller. The Nintendo Switch Pro controller shares a lot of similarities with the Xbox One controller. They both have offset thumbsticks and great d-pads. They even have the same face button lettering, but its the style of the Switch Pro controller that sets it apart.

There’s more to each controller than just that so enjoy the video, let me know which controller design is your favorite in the comments section below and don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more gaming tech content.
