People play a central role in the machine learning life cycle. Consequently, building machine learning systems that are reliable, trustworthy, and fair requires that relevant stakeholders—including developers, users, and the people affected by these systems—have at least a basic understanding of how they work. Yet what makes a system “intelligible” is difficult to pin down. Intelligibility is a fundamentally human-centered concept that lacks a one-size-fits-all solution. I will explore the importance of evaluating methods for achieving intelligibility in context with relevant stakeholders, ways of empirically testing whether intelligibility techniques achieve their goals, and why we should expand our concept of intelligibility beyond machine learning models to other aspects of machine learning systems, such as datasets and performance metrics.

The Xbox Series X has only been out for a day and people have already figured out how to make it shoot smoke and levitate ping-pong balls… Except not really. In other almost-news, Phil Spencer has said he’s gotten significant hands-on time with From Software’s hotly anticipated Elden Ring. New Resident Evil VIllage gameplay shown off in a very weird way. Meanwhile, The Five Nights At Freddy’s movie and Halo TV show get a couple of updates, and a Sony exec gave an update on how long the PS4 will continue to be supported.
The Xbox Series X launched this week, and already people are running into problems, like smoke coming out of the system’s top vent. But is it…fake news?

End-to-end models allow us to represent the entire speech recognition pipeline (i.e., conventional acoustic, pronunciation and language models) by one neural network. This has huge implications for privacy, reliability and latency. In this talk, we will discuss the research developments around E2E models that have allowed it to reach the accuracy of conventional models, at a fraction of the model size and reduced latency. In addition, we will present further benefits of these models with respect to multi-lingual speech recognition.

Why Nigh Trap Is Actually A Fun Game
Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Sub_to_TheGamer
Night Trap is worth the money, and we’re going to give you five years why so. The controversial Sega CD title was re-released with its 25th Anniversary Edition by Screaming Villains, proving that time has turned the game partially responsible for the creation of the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) into a piece of video game history that you must own. It’s a really fun piece of campy interactive entertainment that will delight more than offend as its violent content pales in comparison to the likes of Grand Theft Auto and the newer versions of the game it was originally compared to: Mortal Kombat.
We played the game through and through and laughed more than expected. It was a blast switching between cameras in an interactive experience that paved the way for the likes of Heavy Rain and Deadly Premonition, and in more recent years, games like Tell Me Why and As Dusk Falls. Although not everyone would agree, the game brings people together, and gives it’s fan something fun to talk about.
The choose your own adventure feel to it gives the game its hook, the ultra dorky acting gives it its charm, and the campy horror is the icing on the cake. Spend the $14.99 USD on this slice of video game history, and multiply that by ten to get the Limited Run version with the pretty packaging.
