Dragon Ball is one of the most popular and famous anime properties on the planet. Even if you’re not an active fan, you’ve likely heard of the exploits of Goku and the Z fighters somewhere in pop culture. Being such a lore heavy show, full of memorable and layered characters, there’s bound to be a bunch of internet theories about them out there.
And there is. Some of them are downright silly and make no sense while others are pretty crazy, but make a lot of sense! Some tie in directly to the characters and the plot, while others are fun comparisons that make you question the reality of the Dragon Ball universe.
For instance, Dragon Ball, Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros. take place in the same exact universe. Or at least, they are heavily inspired by each other. When you start to notice the similarities though, it’s hard to forget them.
Some deal directly with the plot, such as the origin of the guardian of the planet, Vegeta, and the origins of the Super Saiyan Gods. Others deal with the genetics of the Super Saiyans and if they’re really stronger than their half-breed children. There’s a theory about why some fights seem to go on forever and it makes so much sense!
There’s some speculative ones as well, such as Gohan’s true father and how old Frieza really is. Let’s just say he may be younger than we initially thought.
There’s also talk of who the most skilled being on the Z Fighters’ team is and it may not be who you thought it’d be. And there’s a hilarious and weird theory about what Majin Buu represents.
